Here's a real piece of "tartan ribbon trivia".
The world's first colour photograph was taken by James Clerk Maxwell in 1861 who overlaid three different images which, when brought into focus, created a full colour photograph. The original photographic plates he made still reside in a small museum in India Street in Edinburgh, in the very house Maxwell was born.
And the subject of this historic photograph? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . tartan ribbon !
