The Scottish National Tartan is a modern commercial tartan designed specifically for the highlandwear hire industry. In terms of general colour and pattern it is extremely similar to the Modern MacKenzie Tartan... in fact the main difference is that the Scottish National Tartan has a double white overcheck, whereas the MacKenzie Tartan has a single white overcheck. At the small scale of tartan ribbon, this difference is so tiny only a real tartan "anorak" would notice.
We would suggest using the Modern MacKenzie Tartan Ribbon as the closest alternative. An added bonus is that Modern MacKenzie Tartan Ribbon is one of only 3 tartan ribbons available in 6 different widths.
